Danish four-piece LISS made a huge impact with their sonically low-key debut song 'Try' this summer. Heads were turned in all the right places online and more so within the corridors of pretty much every indie label worth their salt. The boys announced a proper 7" release for 'Try' yesterday, which will be bundled along with a new track 'Always', and released shortly after their maiden UK dates in Manchester, Bristol and London. Much like 'Try', 'Always' showcases the strange nuances of LISS as slender tendrils of synth and funk bass licks mix it with yearning guitars and uniquely passionate vocals. It's hard to file LISS next to anyone in particular, but try to imagine a space between Connan Mockasin's floral psych-pop and Jungle's effortless soul; these guys are here to fill it. - DC
